Xperia at Microsoft PDC 2008

image.axd Throughout this year’s professional developers conference in LA, a group of 7 Swedish bloggers have been using X1 handsets to blog live from the event. Their collective offerings can be digested (if you can read Swedish) over at the pellesoft blog. There are also, a couple of webcasts talking about the Xperia SDK (again, only for Swedish speakers.)

According to the website, the PDC (professional developers’ conference,) is Microsoft’s premier gathering of leading-edge developers and architects. It’s a major event and was the setting for the launches of both windows XP and Vista. They will be blogging up until the end of the event tomorrow and if you speak Swedish I recommend you check it out.

Every day that I see nothing new on this site, I am one step closer to forgetting about the Xperia and going with the Touch Pro (AT&T Fuze). I originally thought this was going to be a resource for Xperia owners to get the most out of their device, solve issues, and improve the user experience with straight talk straight from the manufacturer. Ha!

I don’t have time to spend my weekends on xda-developers just to figure out how to make my phone work, so sites like fuzemobility and fuzesite are very valuable to me. I’m really disappointed that xperiancers is nothing more than a PR site.

@KCmatt sorry that you’re disappointed with the site so far, it’s absolutely not meant to be a PR site and absolutely is meant to be exactly what you described - a way of helping Xperia owners get the most from their phones. In the near future you’ll have some more of the kind of content you were talking about. Thanks for hanging around - Sam

Sam- thanks for responding to my frustration, but right now Xperiancers.com is NOT the place to come for the best information on Xperia.

Pocketnow.com has the best (and most favorable) review of the X1 and comparisons to Touch Pro that I’ve seen, and there’s no mention on this site. Boygeniusreport.com posted that Best Buy is planning on selling the X1 in the U.S. for $799 starting December 7th.

What is this site reporting?

@Sam Oakley

Users posting questions don’t like having to check back for a week waiting for one of you to grace us with a reply. They don’t like having their questions passed over or outright ignored. If you don’t have the answer, fine - just say so.

Had my X1 for 10 days, great phone but the bugs are a nightmare,bluetooth goes to sleep mode in the car, sony say they are aware but unsure if they can fix it, also the sound quality of the call if you can connect via bluetooth is very poor, tried several bluetooth devices ,its the phone, signal strength on this phone is critical, fringe area no phone at all, yet my N95 works fine same place why ?Sony customer service is very poor for such a high profile device, being told …yes we know and we’re sorry it doesn’t work but have no idea IF or when we can fix these issues is not helpful. I have 2 days left to decide to stick with it and hope for a fix or return it for something not as funky but functional like the Omnia. Not Impressed Sony !

Well its now 5days since I posted my comments above on This site not only a Sony site but THE site for the X1, replies to date , nada, none, zero, silence, yes people, the middle of a doughnut ! the same as Sony’s customer service, the latest as of yesterday is they have no idea when they will have a firmware upgrade to flash the software and fix the bugs. Phones being collected today all 15 of them, decided since no one has bothered to help, I’ve instructed ALL sony phones be returned in my company. Going back to Nokia,yes they have problems but at least they call you back !
