If you are the proud owner of a Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 and you would like a bit more information on how to use it and its applications check out GeekedOut for more details.

Written by a self confessed phone specification geek Lars, the site aims to provide fellow mobile fans with enough information to fulfil their mobile needs. He comments:

“When I use a good cell-phone (especially if it’s fairly new and there’s lots left to discover), it is like stepping into another world.”

To be honest at times the site can be difficult to understand if you are not a true phone fanatic but there are some real gems for getting some performance out of your handset.

Here are my top five of his tips:

1. Tweaks For Optimised Performance

Suggestions that can increase the performance of your phone such as: increasing the speed of your handset

2. How to Speed Up Your Memory Card

Details how to ensure that Windows Mobile is registered to your memory card thus increasing speed

3. Increasing Your Touchscreen’s Responsiveness

Instructions on how to ensure that your screen is as responsive as possible

4. Changing the Font Size of Java Applications (JBed)

Make your applications easier to read and use by following the instructions

5. Making the Pop-Up Menus More Finger-Friendly

Instructions on how to do this by simply enlarging the pop-up menus

    It’s a nice site.
Frankly, the existence of such a site says a lot. Is there one for the iPhone?

X1, great piece of hardware. I still like it. The panels? Yeah, good idea, especially the built-in SE panel which I think is under-rated.

The worst? Windows Mobile itself. The more I use it, the more I dislike it. So many bugs, so many useability problems….

X1 itself is such a paradox for me. The more I use it, the more I like it as a nice piece of hardware and for the custom software bits the SE engineers put it. At the same time, the more I use it, the more I really hate Windows Mobile.

A guide like this was really helpful for me, but shouldn’t have been required and still doesn’t fix the ugly warts in the OS.

    To Fabs,

Load Xperia Tweak 2.0. It has a tick box to remove the conversation-style sms. I asume you’ll have the old style sms again.

    Hope it helps.
