X2 to be launched in January

Hi All – Over the last couple of weeks there has been a few, OK more than a few rumours that the X2 is going to be delayed until January and I’m sure it will not come as a surprise when we say that these are well founded.
The software worked fine but when we started integrating it with some of the network specific apps it threw up a few issues which we’re working to fix.
It’s all minor tweaks really (extending the battery life and speeding up aspects of the software), but we want to be sure that when we ship this it is as good as it should be and that you don’t have to constantly upgrade the software as we iron out these wrinkles.
So… we’re launching first week of January. Really sorry if you were looking forward to getting hold of one before then but it will be worth it when we get there.

Thank you very much for a honest update. I was in contact with the Xperia Support the last couple of weeks and each agent told me another terrible story.
On one hand I’m a bit sad don’t call the X2 my own before Christmas on the other side I really appreciate that SE wants to be perfect with this phone and to turn the Christmas selling down.

Well, I am interested in buying this device, but if the release would already have been it would be much cheaper in January!
So I guess it would cost 600€ or less. But If you’ll release it in January and the price will be 700€, it is a difference of 100€, which is a lot!
So I guess it would be more than important, to think about the price again!!!

I am really looking forward to have this phone. Although I can’t wait to get my hands on to it (as I repeatedly said that to many places) but I can manage with the delays. Why?
Because every time I take a round to know other devices, I found myself returning to X2. It has lag, it has well not up to the mark processor (as many has been complaining) but I just see no other choice for me that I could proudly hold up in my hands.
To my eyes, there is no other smartphone (other than X10) is out there that offering the complete package, design and size also included. No device is perfect but not every device is for everyone.
IMO, the first thing someone and yourself too look into a phone is the look of phone, than the features. I want to have a handset that would pleases my eyes when I look at it, which I feel something when I hold it and which also takes care of my works the way it should be, and also making calls when its needed. X2 has just everything for me and I really hope when it will come to stores it will show its power to everyone despite an old processor or WinMo.

When is the Xperia X2 going to be released in the US? I have the X1a and really love Windows Mobile, and am anticipating the launch of the X2. How much longer must I wait?

early rumors, annouced launch dates, postponing them and even the launch began, no phones in the stores.

This is not HTC HD2, why is it so expensive? The hardvare is very outdated, old slow cpu, small screen, same ram,rom. The price is same, but the HTC much more powerfull. What are you thinking this price? Sorry for my English, i other languages speaks. Pardon:We chose the Qualcomm 7200A for two reasons. We wanted the X2 to come in at a lower price point than the X1. ????

Today I got a call from the company that should have delivered my xperia x2 this week, and they told me it will not be released at all because of new software problems!! SE will not distibute the x2 anymore at all!! wtf? What’s going on?

Almost 2 weeks of January are past. X2 appears in stores in America and UK “on stock” for around € 550.-. When will it come to the rest of Europe?

I just was smiling about the words below the SE logo – make believe. Hey SE make me believe that the X2 will come – at this moment to be honest I don´t believe…….
Holy Grale!! What about customer relationship? If you call SE support one agent says it’s been sent out to the distributors, if you call 10 minutes later another agents says “we don’t know when X2 will reach the market”!! So please, train your agents so all give the same answer. I’m really not sure if I should buy a HTC device instead of X2. Waiting isn’t the problem…the communication of SE is the problem. I don’t wonder why SE is loosing market and customers. That’s the wrong way!

Looks like Aaron forgot to say which year the first week in January will be. I guess 2011…Very frustrating what Sony Ericsson is doing with its customers. They should learn to release phones in a way like Apple is doing. Announce and ship at the same time!
go to ebay, it has been released…. at a reasonable price.. i can fetch one for 700 CAD … not sure about the speed tho, videos ive seen look as slow as the x1… but i will wait for an official review.

hello I’ve ordered in front of 1,5 months x2 .. and it is still not there.
When I call to tell me that it might not come out .. I’m still waiting for 1 week whom it is still not there I get my HTC HD2.

I still don’t understand why this blog is not daily updated by SEMC. What’s the reason to have such a blog if you guys don’t answer? Many users ask but still no replies. Can you bring some light into the rumours that the Xperia X2 is now delayed until April or even May 2010? I also don’t see any active marketing for the X2, why not? I mean I would love to have it right now but where is it? I have it on order since October 2009 and my shop only tells me every two weeks it is available in another two weeks in Germany as QWERTZ version. Very frustrating how your information policy is upsetiing your loyal customers. Looking at your company results you better do something to correct the situation asap before it is to late.
