Xperia™ Pureness announced today

// September 3rd, 2009 // No Comments » // Pureness News

This morning at an event highlighting our new brand direction and its alignment under Sony’s make.believe brand message we showed the next device to be launched under the XperiaTM brand to a select few journalists.

It’s called XperiaTM Pureness and will launch during November 2009. Pureness is a really simple design phone, based around the core concepts of talk text and time but dressed up in a highly designed, sculpted shell and created around the idea of the handset as a work of art.

We’ll announce more details closer to when the phone launches but for now feast your eyes on the images below.XperiaTM Pureness_Front_40Angle_i_BLACK_lit

Xperia X1 Hits London Design Festival 2008

London Design Festival 08, courtesy of Wallpaper magazine

We asked some of the editors at Wallpaper magazine to test drive the Xperia X1 this week at the London Design Festival – using the phone to blog live from the events they attend and really putting it through its paces.  You can see what’s been going on and enjoy a bit of the atmosphere from the UK’s leading design festival here.  They will be adding photos and updates throughout the week as they rush about London covering all the shows and exhibitions.

First X1 camera images available

// September 16th, 2008 // 6 Comments » // MEDIA, TOUCHSCREEN, XPERIA X1

DSC_0006If you visit our images page, you can now see what I think is the first image taken from the camera of the X1. On our fancy photo wall, you click on the image to zoom in then on the circular arrow to flip it over. This gives you a link to the download page (our flickr account.)

It was in low light, (the killer of all phone cameras,) still, I was quite impressed. The touch focus is much easier to use than I had expected and the load time is nice and quick.

We also have a new video taken at yesterday’s preview event.

Thanks to Paul and Matt for the editing

Sam
